In my head I feel it like a warning shot Enters my mind simply like a writhing tongue “If I can’t work, I will have to disappear” “Why hesitate? You could simply disappear” Dolor in, dolor in pyxides Freedom in, freedom in the boxes

I'm just a shadow on the dirt I've got no more easy words such a struggle to get them down I wish I'd told you i was hurt I know its not a happy world but I thought you could turn it around And when I dream I see your face, your missing teeth, in an argument a cigarette and your sunglasses and empty beer an empty threat Now you're a picture on my wall A memory I cannot call I try to talk but you can hear And all the suffering is done I know its not, it never was I know you wanted to disappear But in my dreams I see your face, missing teeth, in an argument a cigarette and your sunglasses and empty threat my favorite mess You were never a burden you were just on borrowed time

In my head, I hit sun by rolling on my drugs. In my heart, I live free So fully on my way. In my hand, like you said I'm feeling my way home. And like a sin, my modern world, a showcase on my back. In my dreams, a pearl that's missing in the end. Take my hand, don't let go see we're headed somewhere close.

Truculent is the moniker for Philadelphia guitarist Dan Timlin. Since 2016 Truculent has developed his sound by blending melodic rhythmic guitar compositions with field recordings and found sounds to create atmospheric soundscapes. Truculent began as a therapeutic exercise to connect thoughts and trauma with positivity through music.

"These observations are based on personal experience. Being my views and not fact doesn’t make them any more or less valid but allows them to be molded and refined through peer input, collaboration, and consideration.

The four imprints* are the basic structure of society, reflected in us. They are self reinforcing, feedback loops of: resentment then anger then progress, ignorance, regression, and submission, finally returning to resentment. A mirror facing a mirror.

We can, will, and do oscillate between these four imprints and many more, throughout the course of life, or moment to moment, even from thought to thought. The trick is to find a way to live inside them while simultaneously being centrally detached from them.

The map is not the territory

We build resentment debt the same way a house is built. Brick by brick.
We can carry the effects of resentment debt in the body both physically and mentally.

Trauma is stored in the body, resentment is stored in the society.

Generational resentment(resentment debt) paired with generational oppression( gender, racial, religious, economic, educational...) creates the optimal environment for the subjugation of workers.

Workers assuage their resentment of laboring for our “corporations” with the belief that we (the worker) are “good” and rise above “evil” (the corporation) spiritually. Economic stoicism loses all importance when you eliminate the temptation of an “afterlife”.

Corporations never die, they just rebrand.

Every deferment of the natural instinct to rebel against a patriarchal hegemonic structure, adds to the generational resentment debt. Creating people who are simultaneously alienated from and essential to a society that rejects them. A modern worker is diametrically “rebellious” and craves “authority” through validation of “good” behavior IE the bare minimum compensation from corporations.

If the typical American rejected race hatred in the same way he rejects “socialism” every American would be free.

Reject violence, embrace equality.
Reject mysticism, embrace gender nonconformity.
Reject asceticism, embrace sexuality."
